What residue a gift search actually leaves

No history file, then erase
The first control is the missing file. There is nothing to clear because the list was never written. Tabs live in memory. Session erase does not empty the encrypted download vault. That is deliberate. A browsing wipe is for residue from pages. A kept file is a decision you already made. If you saved a size chart or an order PDF into the vault, erase leaves it there. Panic can take it. Keep the verbs separate so a gift file you wanted to keep is not a casualty of clearing the session. Downloads, Photos, and the vault
A saved product image in Camera Roll is how a surprise becomes a household thumbnail. Widgets, Memories, and a TV that asks for photos will treat the library as content to surface. Someone who never opened this browser can still open Photos. The architectural fix is a destination that is not the gallery. We will not name shopping hosts. We will not claim every product page offers a file. A download is a file you start. Whether a given page actually offers one is the page’s behavior. Video, PDFs, and images use the same store when you save on purpose. Session erase still leaves the vault. A panic code at the lock screen silently wipes tabs, the entire vault, and the break-in log, then opens what looks like a fresh start. Irreversible. Do not pick a panic number you will type by accident.
If a file already landed in Photos from another app, this browser cannot unsay that. Erase here does not reach Camera Roll. Clean the library in Photos if that is where the tile lives. Going forward, keep gift files in the vault or do not save them. The shared phone is the audience. The gallery is a public room in that house.
What this cannot hide
A browser alone does not make you anonymous. The shop still sees your IP address, the usual headers, and whatever you type into checkout. Your network operator, including the home router you both use, can still see destinations. Blocking extra third-party requests is a reduction of known noise. It is not invisibility.
